The problem with this one central safe area is that eventually, it is going to run out of room.  Also, the whole starting wars with people to make it so you can steal/greif, why would anyone ever accept?

To steal, I don't think griefing would be a good idea, but clan wars are fun and stealing from and completely taking down another clan sounds pretty good, thats why clans would want a war. Also the main city I would say shouldn't have people's homes in it, because if we are a clan warfare why would we want peaceful people in the city getting angry at us for doing pvp and whatnot, if you are peaceful, start a peaceful clan.

The city would not have clan wars. The only place where any kind of griefing and stealing would be tolerated would be the wastes. The city is the place where ppl who are not interested in clan warfare would go, and not have to deal with the worry of losing their stuff. And the problem with clan wars is that not everyone in a clan would wanna participate, and those who wont will suffer if their clan home is "taken apart." Dont do clan warfare, at least to start out. It will turn off so many people, and the only group that will stay are the destructive, rule-breaking kind. Like I said before, we gotta rebuild our server and boost our numbers before trying anything too fancy.

Hmm... What if a person in a clan were to kill someone from another clan, and if that person and their clan who died want to declare war, the killer and his clan has no choice, or the clan can decide to remove the instigator from the clan.  Although, killing in defense in fine, and cannot have a war forced off of.   The tough part of this would be to actually get the people to be honest and say it was in defense, although im sure ludi can whip up a fancy-smansy plugin to make it so it detects who did what, if its even possible.

I don't really think a wastes would be a good option because it would make everything so dull, and the way I am trying to push things, with compromise for dirty's ideas, you can't just go around pillaging and causing wars with other clans, because both clans would have to accept the decision to go to war. I say that if, maybe 5 or 6 of us start our clans, for other people to join, we could just get a large amount of people in our clans, and then allow people to apply to create their own clans, and have some members of our large clans break off into different clans if they want. If ludi could do something like a no pvp between peaceful clans, and like dirty said, pvp with neutral clans with the possibility for the detection of who started the fight, where the clans would have option for war if they agreed on it.

Well we have to come to some sort of an agreement on a plan, I don't know what you guys are thinking though, we really should figure this out

I shall put up a poll in a while so we can decide what to do. Also, in response to your other worry about the wastes surrounding the city being too dull. I use wastes as a term for a place really difficult to live in, and in this case it is due to the mobs being really fucking hard. The 'wastes' can be any biome. It could be a fucking lush forest with prancing happy animals everywhere. I dont care. Wastes was just a term to separate the city and the....well wastes

So i say we can combine our ideas, just use your idea for a main sort of city, all of the mobs are really hard to kill, so we have to band together having big clans and such, and using my idea for the clans themselves, wars, etc. Sounds like a plan to me, we should make a finalized idea, but let the others who have opinions post theirs too (on a poll) and we can have a big vote.
