I also have a bit of a time issue

I would love the server up going full speed once again... (player flow i mean, not the actual server) Ive been wanting to go public for a while and especially now that the stuff is ready, but no one is ever on or anything so its tough to talk to anyone about it, plus the laziness to create rules and such... but really the rules from any of the last servers will do just fine. I find that the whole vanilla based survival minecraft is really starting to get old for everyone, including me. This means less people will want to join the server, or stay on it.

A mod server would be really cool but its hard to manage a large mod server and i dont think we should open up a public mod server with an active player cap over 10-15. If we were to open a modded server we should keep it only to us or, others who join regularly and that we trust on a different (rp, survival, whatever) server that we would have up at the same time.

I do think we should get a big server going with active people. Currently i think the best idea would be to have an rp server (We can use the same map we are on right now still), or an rp server with the whole red vs blue thing we did before because that is what i found the most fun.

On the main server i think we would need more plugins then we have right now. Mcmmo, some sort of economy mod like in red vs blue, a multiworld plugin like we had in RvB, etc. Also, some sort of ranking thing like king, noble, lord, etc. but im sure we can just do something like that with ludis plugin if hes willing to change, or make a new one with the same base code of it.

We could have 2-4 main kings/queens for the main kingdoms (if we do it this way) that are run by admins/moderators,(like rp with green, blue, yellow with ludi, nopt, big as kings, not sure if everyone was here for that one...) and they have the power to do whatever it may be, upgrade rankings of kingdom members, add/remove members, etc, plus all the basic mod/admin commands.

Sorry this is all over the place im just spewing thoughts and not really organizing them... just wanted to throw out my ideas... after some other people put up some ideas we can make a poll.

I like RP and I also like economy, it makes for a more interesting aspect to the server

I personally am partial to having RED v BLUE + Nomads, though I am hesitant with both economy and mcmmo since I think that was the main downfall of the RvB in the first place tbh, though I do agree that there does need to be some sort of incentive.

I am also willing to add/change parts of my plugin a bit more quickly than before because I have slightly more free time this semester.

i, however, have less time this semester, but it is only grade 11 highschool so i still will have a decent amount of time i guess. Ive also started working more but i should be able to get on regularly

Start fleshing out your ideas from your other post so that there could actually be some movement on the server front

I don't really like economy, because most shops follow the same prices and I just think it takes away the whole exploration aspect of the game when you are rich enough to buy your way through everything. Shops are cool but I would rather toss economy.

but it adds a whole new aspect to the game... i think its a great idea, its limited to only merchants, and a king can control his kingdom's economy by adding only a certain amount of merchants.. and he can limit what they can sell, gives players an optional "job" feeling to the game, where their job is to go mine as much iron as possible and sell it for money to buy diamonds, food, etc.. And vice versa, the farmer-types can buy all their diamonds etc.


Another idea is to have an item- like emeralds that add an economy to the game themselves.. like each player starts with ___ emeralds, which they lose when they die. but they are pretty much money, used to trade your diamonds for emeralds, and emeralds for farm products..... Not sure if this is a good idea, but ive always wanted to have some sort of in-game economy to minecraft

We could make a sort of "Conquest" server.

This is the basic summary of how I conceive it working

-we create a world and build several large fortified cities.
-there are 2 or 3 kings who control several kingdoms (I suggest that they be Admins)
- there should also be an almighty deity (definitely an Admin, probably Ludi)
-Each Kingdom has a massive Capital City and designated color.
-There's also needs to be a large neutral area for meetings between kings.
-Each new person selects a kingdom to live in or decides to be a raider (nomad).
-Each person then is given a position within the kingdom by the King (Worker, Soldier, Venturer)

-Workers: Live within cities and are in charge of building, farming, developing cities, and mining.
-Soldiers: Well-armed, protect the cities from raiders and hostile mobs as well as attacking raider settlements and enemy cities
-Venturers: lightly armed, Explore new areas, found cities, and bring back resources for Workers to use

-The main objective is for each kingdom to expand territory and acquire cities
-Cities are captured by either soldiers or kings replacing a flag within the city's capitol building with their kingdoms flag
- alternatively, Venturers can found temporary cities which must be built up to a certain level in order to receive full status (or at the discrepancy of the almighty deity)
- after a city has been given full status, only friendly Workers and the king may build on it and currency can be received from it
-The kings receive a certain amount of currency for each city they have under their control after a certain time period
-Alternatively, kings may appoint governors to govern cities for them and moderate that city's income
- currency is used in the standard shop style and can be exchanged between people of all kingdoms.

- Capitol cities are the center of trade in a kingdom and are the only places with portlals to the shop
- In each capital city there is a stronghold or castle where the king rules from and lives and where the cities flag is held.
-If a capital city is captured by enemies the kingdom is lost and the kingdom is temporarily disbanded.
-The citizens of a captured kingdom are given a new area to build a new capital city and are granted temporary invulnerability from PvP attacks at the expense of their own ability to attack PvP.

-If a player is disobedient to their king, the king may either imprison them or banish them to the wilds.
-If a player dies they immediately respawn in the nearest city that they slept in without any of their items.
-If a king is killed they respawn inside their castle
-If a raider is killed it's pretty much the same a vanilla minecraft
-new players spawn inside their appropriate capital city or the raider spawn point

-raiders (nomads) basically dick around and do whatever the fuck they feel like doing and basically just play vanilla minecraft with raiding parties constantly raping their homes and burning their women.
-raiders can't destroy or place flags and can't found cities
-they can 'raid' cities for resources.
-If enough of the raiders band together they may be able to form a new kingdom under temporarily captured kingdom rules.

- I also suggest we add more resources and tools to make it more interesting and add more variety(such as tin, bronze, aluminum, gems, all that jazz)
- also characters will need some sort of indicator to show which kingdom they belong to, like gang tats
- also a train system would make it even cooler as it would add value to cities connected along the train line and force kings to add defenses to prevent raiders or enemy kingdoms from disrupting train lines.

I think if you did this I would cry of happiness.

It's a good idea, however, it requires a large population and I don't think it fits minecraft.

Guys, take a look at Ludi's Server idea. I strongly feel this is the best option, given our size, preferences, and experiences, since it incorporates many aspects and mods we have used across our various servers. I understand that maybe some parts of this you don't like, or don't think would work. In that case, post about what you would change and why that would be better than what is already thought of. I highly suggest taking this server idea, working with it, and making it something you would play. Ludi and I got really psyched talking about it, and I think its the best server idea to date. So please take a look, the link is at the bottom. Sitting around and barely discussing options won't magically create a server, it will take you and your efforts. Ludi and myself are too busy to invest loads of time into the server, so its up to you guys to take up our previous responsibilities and make this your own thing. You don't really need us anymore, its your turn. I loved the time I spent with you, and I would hate for this server to stop, so now I need you all to take up the task and make a great server for current and new players. Start with Ludi's idea, make it your own, and off you go.
