Server status and Plugins

blegh, accidentally hotkeyed my left click for some render image action, now whenever I click in the menu, the game crashes. So, i cant even get into the options section without my game going down. Ive re-downloaded, and force updated, and deleted all the old versions of the modpack, but it doesnt seem to work. Any suggestions?

you should be able to change the controls in the title screen without the imte render goin

Temp in the sense that I do want to go back to the regular server once bukkit gets its shit together, but it is permanent in the sense that we arent changing mindcrack maps unless it craps again

Ok so here is the dealio:

1st MindCrack server got corrupted after my computer got a BSOD

2nd MindCrack server got corrupted because something was glitchy with crystal chests and chunk loaders (I assume these were fixed in updates since then)

3rd(most recent) MindCrack server got corrupted after my computer got another BSOD

[All of these corruptions are map corruptions, had they been issues with the mods themselves they would be fixxed already when I redownloaded em!]

Point is, I think it is likely that I may get a BSOD sometime again in the relative near future, I get them about once a month now.

I don't know if it would make sense to start another map if there is a likely chance it will be corrupted. There isn't a 100% chance that a BSOD will happen again but I would not be surprised.

I'm thinking someone else should host a new map and have that be the main server until I can gut out my computer and hopefully find a fix for the BSODs. We can easily put the map you guys use onto my computer once it is safe later on.

I could also put up another sever and have you guys cross your fingers but... well... yeah i doubt u'd want to do that!

Gimme your thoughts, and if anyone can reliably host, make yourself known. Preferably someone who can host 24/7. If you need help setting stuff up I can try to help.

Another option is that we do something else but idk, up to you guys!

Im fine with that, But i could always just allocate 3 cores or something toward the server since i dont even use them. But whatever is best right now

I AM A TROUBLE SHOOTING GOD

So I spent all of today doing every possible goddamn software and firmware update with a full diagnosis of my registry, ram, hard discs, etc... EVERYTHING! Cleaned their discrepencies, defragged all that could be defragged, checked my bios settings, and researched the shit out of all possible reasons for the BSOD.

To figure it out I literally went all National Treasure on google following one clue to the next, eventually putting the pieces together and figuring out the problem myself!

And guess what?

Turns out it was a MOTHER FUCKING webcam driver acting up. Every time!!!!!!

I legitimately have not used that webcam for more than 3 years so I set the driver updates to stop updating... And just my luck, that one version of the driver JUST HAPPENED TO BE ONE THAT WAS DISCOVERED TO CAUSE PERIODIC BSODS THAT SLOWLY BECOME MORE FREQUENT

SRSLY WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT I STOP UPDATING RIGHT ON AN INCREASINGLY SHITTY DRIVE?!?!

Anyways, I'll fix the dingus tomorrow and I will host the server again

TL;DR - I know what the problem is and how to fix it. Fresh "permanent" MindCrack server will be put up tomorrow, or whoever is hosting's map if you want.

Server is back as I promised and unless I get a blackout or you mofos accidently set off some fatal glitch in the mods, the mindcrack server will be stable for a good time ahead!

I was doing it to make up for our tension. That is the ancient symbol for fertility, and i was invoking an aura of successful endeavors from the gods of the soil and sky! I do not understand what you find troubling???

Server is going to be down for a large bit of the afternoon this saturday, 2/9/2013

I'm taking it into school to clean the dust out and overclock it with the IT director. Should be back up by 5 assuming I don't melt any hardware by accident xD (Yes that is an actual danger, thats why im having mah boss make sure I don't fuck up too bad)

Backing something up doesnt do much if the hard drives melt. I would also note that there is absolutely no danger of the hard drives melting since overclocking has to do with performance like the physical memory and cpu, not actual data space. The things in danger of overheating would be the RAM, processor, motherboard, and possibly even the graphics card, but not the hard drives or power supply.

Download the client .exe and after opening the client select the modpack called MindCrack

It is basically multiplayer technic pack, and the server is only temporary and the normal one will be back once bukkit decides to release a stable build (which doesnt look promising anytime soon)
